A few months ago, Liontrust renamed its Income fund to reflect the product’s recently changed mandate to become global.

The IMA Global Equity Income sector only came into being at the start of 2012 but a lot can be gleaned from the funds that would have qualified had it existed longer.
There are only 15 funds in the sector with a five year track record but if one looks at those with a one-year track record the number doubles to 30.
There are 94 funds in the IMA UK Equity Income sector and few would likely bet against its global cousin being bigger in just a few years’ time.
